Hanuman v. 7 Ultramans (1975/1979) aka The Monkeys aka 6 Ultra Brothers v. the Monster Arm aka The Thai Production
First Thai production. Released in Thailand 1975, but in Japan in
1979. A youth is violently murdered, but resurrected by the Ultra Mother into the monkey god, Hanumann. After many adventures, he must confront a monster army with the aid of the Ultramen. |

Ultraman Colosseum
An impressive “highlights” reel. There are 15 highlighted battles of various Ultra-men (original, Ultra7, Cosmos to name just a few) against various monsters / kaiju / seijins. For example, want to see the original Ultraman battling it out with Antlar (Episode 7) or Hydra (Episode 20) in excellent digital video and sound remastering? Well, it’s here!. The quality image for the entire DVD is fantastic. And what makes it even rarer, its hosted by “Ultraboy” and has footage of Ultraman King. The host, UltraBoy, speaks in Japanese, but do you really care? IT’s all about the fight scenes and they have no dialogue…just action. Well actually, there is a "voice over" by a japanese "John Madden" type announcer, but way more virile and vocal in his announcing ! If you’re even thinking about getting other Ultra titles, here’s an excellent place to start because if you see a highlight you enjoy, you know which Ultraman you want to get more of. And if you already have the title, its great to see the Original Ultraman, and Ultraseven in digital remastered fight sequences. |

Anniversary Edition: Ultraman 28
Father and Son fall into their TV and appear at a battle involving
the original Ultraman. From there they move forward through the
Ultraman chronology (Ultra 7, Jack, Ace, Taro, etc., through present)
and at each stop along the way, providing assistance to that Ultra.
Eventually, all the Ultras gather to defeat the bad monster in classic
Ultra fashion (see photo to the left). This is a fantastic DVD to own if you are an Ultraman fan and a great summary of the world of Ultraman from the beginning. |
Anniversary Edition: Ultraman: King's Jubilee
If you have kids that you want to interest in the Ultraman series, than this is a great choice. Or, if you want to see how serious Japan takes their "Ultraman", then again, great choice. If you're looking for Ultraman action against bad monsters/aliens, this ain't for you. |
